Attack Mechanism, Yuanxu Wang

Synopsis : In this semi-fictional story, Yanka Smetanina, a former table tennis player turned artist due to a doping offense, navigates the art world. The film unfolds as we witness her interactions with a gallery over the phone and the presentation of her works. However, the rearranging of her paintings becomes also a nuanced narrative in itself. The film aims to ignite a debate on art education and the art industry, which takes center stage during a scene where two artists in a gallery discuss how education at the academy constructs contexts seemingly distant from the artist industry. Yet, the ultimate purpose is integration.
